Women’s self defence classes now available


Our self-defence classes are a cyclical program of drills which replicate real life scenarios that women statistically encounter.

The main theme of the program is to use the mechanics of the body to bring an end to an altercation and get away to safety, rather than potentially escalating an assault by striking an assailant. We utilise techniques that are proven to be energy efficient, exploiting weak areas of the human body, such as joints, and also manipulating the body-weight distribution of an attacker against them.

We have a dedicated Self-Defence class. This class is not a requirement for grading, although students are highly encouraged to attend as it helps them to feel confident and empowered.

Self-Defence is self-paced and participants are free to engage as much or as little as suits them. We understand there are individuals who may find some of the drills in class confronting and would prefer to observe until they are ready to participate.
